RUSK COUNTY FARM SUPPLY WELCOMES NEW GENERAL MANAGER
Philip Verdegan to Retire; Jesse Spooner Named as Successor
LADYSMITH, WI (Aug 31, 2020) — Phillip Verdegan will retire at the end of 2020. Jesse Spooner will join Rusk County Farm Supply as general manager on August 31. Jesse Spooner will be joined by his wife, Shaina Spooner, as the marketing manager.
Verdegan has been the general manager of Rusk County Farm Supply since the company was purchased in 1987. His staff loved working under Verdegan and will miss seeing his moose mount in the office every day. Verdegan is looking forward to spending time with his ten grandchildren, hunting and fishing.
Jesse Spooner is from Gilman, WI. In 2007, Spooner became a process engineer at BBI International in Lakewood, CO. In 2009, Spooner moved to Orlando, FL to work at a fertilizer plant where he met his wife, Shaina Spooner. In 2010, Spooner moved to Marion, IN to become a plant engineer at Central Indiana Ethanol. In 2012, Spooner became the pilot plant manager at ICM, Inc in St. Joseph, MO until moving to Ladysmith, WI this summer.
Spooner received his Bachelor Degree of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in 2006. He received his professional engineering license in 2016. He is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers.

Shaina Spooner is from Orlando, FL. In 2017, she received her Bachelor Degree of Arts in Graphic Design, as well as her Bachelor Degree of Arts in Marketing and Management from Missouri Western State University. In 2019, she earned her Master’s in Business Administration from Missouri Western as well. She worked in the Marketing and Communications department at Missouri Western as a Digital Marketing Coordinator until moving to Ladysmith, WI.
Verdegan is excited about the future of Rusk County Farm Supply. “Jesse and Shaina will bring new technology, innovative ideas and a personal family-oriented atmosphere to advance the success of Rusk County Farm Supply,” said Verdegan. “I have a very positive outlook for the transition of management and future of Rusk County Farm Supply.”
